Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are very active throughout the City of Florence. The scouts are an important part of our city, and they are visible and constantly working to improve and make Florence an even greater place to live. The adults who volunteer to work with these programs are extremely committed and spend countless hours making sure that the programs are both fun and challenging to our boys and girls. Troop 85 Scout Master: John White Sponsored by Briar Hill Baptist Church Boy Scouts in grades 6-12. Meets 6:30-8:00 - Monday nights at the Boy Scout Hut in the Florence's Hemphill Park.
Troop 108,sponsored by Gunter Road Baptist Church, was started October, 2004. Meetings are held at Gunter Road Baptist Church on Monday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. The adult leaders are: Milton Pickett - Scoutmaster, Richard Alford, David Booth, Joe Dedmon, Jeff & Susan Jennings, Sid Norsworthy, Kevin Corley - Assistant Scoutmasters. The goal of this troop is to build character, instill self-esteem and provide its members with many opportunties to enjoy the great outdoors as they climb the scouting ladder toward Eagle.
